In order for the drive-belt to last as long as possible it must be
installed as is shown in the illustration respecting the direction of
rotation.

NOTICE:
In the case of a belt that has already been used, mark it and
reinstall it such that it will be used in the same direction.
MEASURING THE DEFLECTION OF THE DRIVE BELT

NOTICE:
The deflection must be measured each time a new drive belt is
installed.

NOTICE:
To get a precise measurement when verifying the deflection of
the belt, it is recommended that the belt first be used over a
break-in distance of 50 km (30 mi.).
Before verifying the deflection of the belt, make sure that the
vehicle is equipped with the correct drive belt.
To obtain maximum performance from the vehicle, adjust the
belt tension according to the specifications given in the table on
the right.
