7.1.2 Fieldbus coniguration

Systems in the DigitalSuper series are
equipped with a fieldbus interface.
Designs UFD10-1-1XX000 and UFD20-1-
10X000 have a PROFIBUS interface, and
the version UFD10-1-2XX000 has a PRO-
FINET interface.

7.1.2.1 Systems with PROFIBUS

All MQL designs with a PROFIBUS interface
are connected to the PROFIBUS via a field-
bus coupler.
On UFD20-1-10X000 designs, the fieldbus
coupler is by default connected to the MQL
control unit “System 1.”
For unique identification of the MQL system
on the PROFIBUS, the bus address must be
set.
The address is set with the rotary decade
switches on the control unit
(Chapter 7.1). Addresses 03 to 99 can be is-
sued.
The addresses 00 to 02 are reserved
and should not be issued for slaves, in this
case the MQL system.
In UFD20-1-10X000 designs, set the bus
address on control unit «System 1». The ro-
tary decade switches on control unit «Sys-
tem 2» must be set to “0” (factory setting).
If the MQL system is the last node on the
PROFIBUS, the supplied termination resis-
tor must be connected to the fieldbus plug
(Fig. 51).
