Running LiveUpdate Automatically
The Automatic LiveUpdate automatically updates the definition file.
Be sure to complete the Norton AntiVirus wizard before going on these
steps.
1.
Click start – All Programs – Norton AntiVirus – Norton AntiVirus 2004 .
2. Click Automatic LiveUpdate in the Norton AntiVirus Subscription field.
3. Click the Enable button.
Norton AntiVirus Update Service
Norton AntiVirus software scans for virus by means of a virus definition file allowing
the software to identify and block a particular virus. To protect the computer against
new viruses, the virus definitions and application need to be kept current. The
software automatically checks the web and updates the definition file when needed.
Free update service will be provided within ninety days since the software becomes
enabled. After the free service is over, one-year paid update service can be available.

Scanning Viruses
By default settings, the Norton AntiVirus software automatically scans the computer
once a week. To manually scan viruses infecting the computer, follow the instructions
below.
Be sure to complete the Norton AntiVirus wizard before going on these
steps.
1.
Click start – All Programs – Norton AntiVirus – Norton AntiVirus 2004 .
2. Click Scan for Viruses in the Norton AntiVirus menu.
3. Double-click the option in the Task column and then, follow the on-screen
instructions.
