Clamp the leading edge strip in place as shown in Figure 9. Sand the ribs as necessary to
match the angle of the leading edge strip. During this and later operations, you will find it
helpful to clamp a long board along the top or bottom of the wing to stabilize the ribs and
to keep them from racking over—remember “top” or “bottom” refers to the top or bottom
of the wing in its normal position in the aircraft,
not
in the jig.

Glue the leading edge ribs in place. During this operation it is advisable to have the
leading edge strip in place.

Sand or plane the leading edge strip to the approximate airfoil contour. This will save you
a lot of sanding while it is glued in place.

Glue the leading edge strip in place.
