Chapter 8 Troubleshooting
Problem: No action from alarm bells or horn strobes when the
system reports a fire.
Possible reason and solution:
a. Please check whether the H/S indicator on the panel has been lit.
b. Whether there is fault message about that alarm bell or horn strobe on the LCD.
c. Whether 24V has been supplied to alarm bell or horn strobe.
d. Whether the control module type of the alarm bell is set as alarm bell or horn strobe.
e. Whether there is output of alarm bell/horn strobe in linkage setup.
Problem: No action request to linkage device when the system
reports a fire.
Possible reason and solution:
a. Please check whether the AUTO/MANUAL indicator on the panel has been lit.
b. Whether there is linkage setup data or the "register" item in linkage setup is not checked.
Problem: No action request or action from the multi-wire linkage
unit when the system reports a fire.
The premise of automatic action of the multi-wire linkage unit are the followings:
a. The control switch of the “ENABLE/DISABLE” is set to ENABLE.
b. The control switch of the “AUTO/MANUAL” is set to AUTO.
c. The “AUTO/MANUAL” indicator is lit.
d. There should have linkage setup data and the “register” of the setup should be checked.
Problem: After reporting a fire, there is a request for device
action but no action from the field device is shown.
Possible reason and solution:
a. The field device is not under auto mode; therefore, it cannot be controlled by the module
and fails to start.
b. The device has started but the feedback signal line disconnected.
c. The field device is not connected to the power supply.
Problem: The host reports faults of main power and standby
power at the same time.
Possible reason and solution:
a. Whether the main power feedback cable of the host is well connected.
b. In the Power Setup, whether the power feedback type matches that of the power used.
c. Main power breaks down and standby power is in under-voltage condition.
Problem: The printer prints messy code at the time of alarm.
Possible reason and solution:
a. The printer type set is not consistent with that of equipped printer.
b. The setting of the printer's communication rate is not correct. Normally, it is set as the
thermal printer when delivery, with a rate of 9600BPS. The communication rate of the
printer can be obtained through its self-test and the operations are as follows: press left
button first to turn off the power light and then press right button and press left button
immediately, the printer starts self-test. The printed self-test result contains the
communication rate.
Problem: When two or more hosts are networked, host 2 can
receive the alarm message from host 1, but host 1 cannot
receive data from host 2.
The networking of 9100 series host adopts a non-master-slave mode, which means no
master or slave distinction between networking machines. The alarm message of one host
can be transmitted to the other through the networking line only when they have registered
each other’s host number. The fact that host 2 can receive the alarm message from host 1
indicates the networking line has been connected and host 1 has registered host 2 in its
networking setting; The fact that host 1 can’t receive alarm message of host 2 only indicates
that host 2 fails to register host 1.
