Trunk Information Management
Requirements
Prerequisites
Before you attempt this configuration, ensure that you meet these
prerequisites:

R2 signaling applies to E1 only
y
In order to run R2 signaling on the SBM routers, these hardwares are
required:
−
WTE-2M or WTE-4
y
Define the command cas-ds0-group on the E1 trunk(module) to create ds0-
group.
y
Use the command voice-port and cas-custom in order to customize the E1
R2 variants for different countries or regions.
Configuration Steps
y
Complete physical layer of E1 trunk settings
y
Create ds0-groups to manage the DS0 channels on the E1 trunk
y
Configure ds0-group with sub-commands such as ‘timeslots’ and ‘signal cas’
y
Customize country variants in ‘cas-custom’ configuration mode.
y
Configure basic voice port parameters in ‘voice-port’ configuration mode.
