Repackaging for Shipment
If you need to return the SRG-4500 for service or repair, if possible use the original packaging materials. If the
original packaging is unfit for use, or is not available, you will need to repackage the instrument with suitable
materials. For both scenarios, use any applicable steps in the following guidelines:
1. Obtain a corrugated cardboard shipping carton having inside dimensions at least 6” greater than the SRG-4500
dimensions and having a carton test strength of at least 125kg (275lb).
2. If the SRG-4500 is being shipped for repair or calibration, attach a tag or document to the instrument showing
the following information:
• The owner of the SRG-4500 (i.e. full company address / telephone number / e-mail).
• The name of a person at your company who may be contacted if additional information is needed.
• The complete SRG-4500 type and serial number.
• A description of the service required.
• The return delivery address (if different from above).
• When applicable, include a Purchase Order document (not just a number).
3. Wrap the SRG-4500 with polyethylene sheeting (or equivalent) to protect the outside finish and prevent entry
of packing materials into the instrument.
4. Cushion the SRG-4500 on all sides by tightly packing suitable material or urethane foam between the carton
and the SRG-4500, allowing for 3”(7.62cm) of padding on each side (including top and bottom).
For re-used packaging, add extra foam or bubble-wrap in the spaces to further protect against handling damage.
5. Seal the carton with shipping tape or with an industrial stapler.
