4K UHD BNC Connections
The SRG-4500 has 4 independent pairs of SDI outputs. The format of these outputs can be user configured to be SD
SDI, HD, 3G or 4K UHD (if option enabled). In the standard configuration they are available as SDI Test and SDI
Black.
When SD, HD or 3G formats are chosen for the outputs, the connections are single link and obvious - single BNC
to relevant required output.
It is possible to select up to two 4K UHD (Quad or 2SI) outputs where the 4K UHD signals are quad link signals
and have 4 outputs for each signal. On the SRG-4500 we designate these outputs as Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 for each
pattern generator.

Before You Begin
Keep the following in mind:
• When selecting a 4K format (Quad or 2SI) on SDI OUT 1, the format selected is then automatically selected on
SDI OUT 2 so there is no need to select a format for each quadrant.
• When selecting a 4K pattern (Quad or 2SI) on SDI OUT 1, the pattern selected is then automatically selected on
SDI OUT 2 so there is no need to select a pattern for each quadrant.
• The same applies for SDI OUT 3 and 4.
Physical Connections
Figure 14.1 shows the location of each Quadrant (Q) BNC for the two possible 4K UHD outputs.

The order of the outputs is not sequential.
