"External"
The external clock reference is fed in as the symbol clock or multiple
thereof via the CLOCK connector.
The polarity of the clock input can be changed with the aid of "Global
Trigger/Clock Settings".
SCPI command:
Clock Mode
Enters the type of externally supplied clock.
"Sample"
A sample clock is supplied via the CLOCK connector.
"Multiple Sam-
ple"
A multiple of the sample clock is supplied via the CLOCK connector;
the sample clock is derived internally from this.
SCPI command:
Clock Multiplier
Enters the multiplication factor for clock type "Multiple".
SCPI command:
Measured External Clock
Indicates the measured frequency of the external clock signal. This enables the user to
permanently monitor the frequency of the externally introduced clock.
This information is displayed only if the external clock source has been selected.
SCPI command:
CLOCk:INPut:FREQuency?
5.9 External Baseband Signal - Baseband Input
The R&S Signal Generator makes it possible to feed an external analog or digital base-
band signal into the signal path.
User-specific wanted signals or interference signals can be detuned or loaded with noise
(see description
chapter 5.6, "Impairment of Digital I/Q Signal and Noise Generator -
An analog signal is fed in via the "I/Q" connectors and then A/D-converted. The complex
analog baseband input bandwidth is 60 MHz, i.e. the I and Q components of the signal
are each filtered with a 30 MHz lowpass.
Digital signals are input via the digital interface DIGITAL IQ IN/OUT at the rear of the
instrument. This interface provides direct communication with other R&S instruments.
Additionally, the external digital signal interface module (R&S EX-IQ-BOX) can be con-
nected, providing parallel or serial signal transmission from external devices. The exter-
nally input signal can be frequency and offset shifted.
