VALVE CLEARANCE
Intake — 0.08-0.12 mm (.003-.005 inch)
Exhaust — 0.13-0.17 mm (.005-.007 inch)
After the first 50 hours of operation, check the valve clearance in
the engine and adjust if necessary.
NOTICE:
If unsure about doing this procedure or the proper tools are
not available, take the generator to the nearest service center to have
the valve clearance adjusted. This is a very important procedure to
ensure longest life for the engine.
SPARK ARRESTER SCREEN
Remove screen every 50 hours for cleaning and inspection.
Replace if damaged.
Clean and inspect the spark arrester as follows:
1. Remove the screen retainer by removing the retainer clamp.
2. Remove the retainer screw from the muffler outlet tube.
3. Slide the spark arrester screen out from the muffler outlet tube.
4. Be careful not to damage the spark arresting screen. The
spark arrester must be free of breaks and holes. If screen
is not damaged, clean it with a commerical solvent.
5. Replace the screen and retainer and secure with retainer screw
and clamp.
Brushes
The brushes in the generator should be inspected once every year
for chips and cracks. Brushes should be replaced when they are worn
to 1/4 inch (7mm).
NOTE: Replace brushes in sets only, never separately.
Replace only with brushes specified in parts list. Other brushes
may appear to be identical but may have completely different
mechanical and electrical characteristics.
INSPECTING THE BRUSHES:
1. Remove 2 screws (V) and end cover (W).
2. Remove screw (X) holding the brush module (Y).
3. Disconnect the blue (+) and yellow (-) brush wires from the
tabs.
4. Replace if worn to 1/4 inch (7mm).
5. Do not over tighten screw.
HEAT SHIELD:
Inspect to ensure that all heat shields and heat deflectors are intact
and in place. Do not remove any parts or modify parts. Removing or
modifying parts could cause serious damage to the unit.
ENGINE: Carburetor Icing
During the winter months, rare atmospheric conditions may
develop which will cause an icing condition in the carburetor. If this
develops, the engine may run rough, loose power, and may stall. Call
Product Service for more information.
QUICK STARTING TIPS FOR UNITS THAT HAVE BEEN
SITTING FOR AWHILE:
If your unit has been sitting around for a long time period and is
hard to start, try doing some of these easy steps before calling the
Customer Hotline.
1. Check the oil level.
2. Check or replace the LP Gas tank.
3. Change the spark plug.
4. Check the fuel lines. Make sure the fuel shut off valve is open.
5. Check all generator parts for integrity.
6. Clean the Carburetor.
INFREQUENT SERVICE
If the unit is used infrequently, difficult starting may result. To
eliminate hard starting, follow these instructions:
1. Run the generator at least 30 minutes every month.
2. Run the generator, then close the fuel shut-off valve and allow
the unit to run until the engine stops.
3. Move the engine switch to the “OFF” position.
LONG TERM STORAGE
When the generator set is not being operated or is being stored
more than one month, follow these instructions:
1. Replenish engine oil to upper level.
2. Run the generator, then close the fuel shut-off valve and allow
the unit to run until the engine stops.
3. Move the engine switch to the “OFF” position.
4. Pour about one teaspoon of engine oil through the spark plug
hole, pull the recoil starter several times and replace the plug.
Then pull the starter until you feel the piston is on its
compression stroke and leave it in that position. This closes
both the intake and exhaust valves to prevent the inside of the
cylinder from rusting.
5. Cover the unit and store in a clean, dry place that is well
ventilated away from open flame or sparks.

AVISO
: Se não tiver a certeza sobre como efetuar este procedimento

centro de assistência mais próximo para ajuste da folga da válvula. Este
é um procedimento muito importante para garantir uma vida útil mais
longa do motor.
TELA SUPRESSORA DE FAÍSCAS
Remova a tela a cada 50 horas para limpeza e inspeção.
Substitua-
-a se estiver danificada.
Limpe e inspecione o supressor de faíscas da seguinte forma:
1. Remova o retentor da tela, removendo o grampo retentor.
2. Remova o parafuso retentor do tubo de saída do escape.
3. Deslize a tela supressora de faíscas para fora do tubo de saída do
escape.
4. Tenha cuidado para não danificar a tela supressora de faíscas. O
supressor de faíscas não deve ter rachas nem orifícios. Se a tela não
estiver danificada, limpe-a com um solvente comercial.
5. Substitua a tela e o retentor e fixe-os com o parafuso retentor e o
grampo.
ESCOVAS
As escovas no gerador devem ser inspecionadas anualmente para
verificar se existem lascas e rachas. As escovas devem ser substituídas
quando estiverem gastas 7 mm (1/4 de polegada).
NOTA: Substitua as escovas em conjunto, nunca
separadamente. Substitua apenas com escovas especificadas na lista
de peças. Outras escovas podem parecer idênticas, mas podem ter
características mecânicas e elétricas totalmente diferentes.
INSPEÇÃO DAS ESCOVAS:
1. Remova os 2 parafusos (V) e a tampa da extremidade (W).
2. Remova o parafuso (X) segurando no módulo da escova (Y).
3. Desligue os fios azul (+) e amarelo (-) da escova nas guias.
4. Substitua-as se estiverem gastas 7 mm (1/4 de polegada).
5. Não aperte demasiado o parafuso.
ESCUDO TÉRMICO:
Inspecione para garantir que todos os escudos e defletores térmicos
estão intactos e na devida posição. Não remova nem modifique nenhuma
peça. A remoção ou alteração de peças pode causar danos graves na unidade.
MOTOR: Formação de gelo no carburador
Durante os meses de inverno, podem ocorrer raras condições
atmosféricas que farão com que se forme gelo no carburador. Se isto
ocorrer, o motor poderá funcionar de forma irregular, perder potência e
poderá parar. Contacte o serviço de assistência ao produto para obter mais
informações.
DICAS DE ARRANQUE RÁPIDO PARA AS UNIDADES PARADAS
HÁ ALGUM TEMPO:
Se a sua unidade tiver estado parada durante um longo período de
tempo e for difícil arrancá-la, tente executar alguns destes passos fáceis
antes de ligar para a linha de apoio ao cliente.
1. Verifique o nível do óleo.
2. Verifique ou substitua o tanque de gás LP.
3. Substitua a vela de ignição.
4. Verifique as linhas de combustível. Certifique-se de que a válvula de
corte de combustível está aberta.
5. Verifique a integridade de todas as peças do gerador .
6. Limpe o carburador.

SERVIÇOS PARA UTILIZAÇÃO POUCO FREQUENTE
Se a unidade for utilizada com pouco frequência, podem ocorrer
dificuldades de arranque. Para evitar um arranque difícil siga as seguin
-
tes instruções:
1. Coloque o gerador em funcionamento durante pelo menos 30
minutos todos os meses.
2. Coloque o gerador em funcionamento, em seguida, feche a válvu-
la de combustível e deixe a unidade em funcionamento até que o
motor pare.
3. Desloque o interruptor do motor para a posição “DESLIGADO”.
ARMAZENAMENTO DE LONGO PRAZO
Quando o conjunto do gerador não está estiver a ser utilizado
ou estiver armazenado durante mais de um mês, siga as seguintes
instruções:
1. Reponha o óleo do motor até ao nível superior.
2. Coloque o gerador em funcionamento, em seguida, feche a válvu-
la de combustível e deixe a unidade em funcionamento até que o
motor pare.
3. Desloque o interruptor do motor para a posição “DESLIGADO”.
4. Despeje cerca de uma colher de chá de óleo de motor através do
orifício da vela de ignição, puxe a bobine de arranque várias vezes
e substitua a vela. Em seguida, puxe o arrancador até sentir que o
pistão está no seu curso de compressão e deixe-o nessa posição.
Isto fecha as válvulas de admissão e de escape para impedir a
formação de ferrugem no interior da botija.
5. Cubra a unidade e armazena-a num local limpo e seco, bem venti-
lado e afastado de chamas ou faíscas.
