Each communications port on the UPS operates in one of five modes, which you
select when configuring the port using the Port Setup screen. The ports cannot operate in
the same mode at the same time.

keep a written log of system events, depending on the
equipment connected to the port. This mode is the

Terminal Mode
In this mode, system events are continually logged through the
port to whatever
device is connected to the port. For example, if the port is connected to
a
printer, events
print immediately as they occur. If the port is connected to a computer running a terminal
emulation program, events are logged on the screen as they occur. You can also capture
the log to a file and
