12 • Inview/ Budget Manager Accounting
Selecting the Accounting Period
When you enter the start date for the fiscal year, the system
automatically determines the end date. (For example, if 1st January,
2010 is the beginning of your fiscal year, the system sets the end
date at 31st December, 2010.)
Once the fiscal year is set, you will need to select the number of
accounting periods. You can select one of the standard accounting
periods (none, annual, twice yearly, quarterly, and monthly) or you
can define your own custom reporting period.
Follow the steps below to set your fiscal year and select the type of
accounting period you will use:
1. Press
Options
.
2. Select "Accounts”.
3. If the supervisor password is enabled, you will be prompted to enter
it and select “OK” to continue.
4. Select “Acct Period: ...”. The Accounting Period screen appears.

Select “Edit Start of Fiscal Year”
a. Press
Clear
.
b. Type in the start date of your fiscal year.
c. Select “OK”
to save the date. The Accounting Periods screen
reappears.
6. Select “Period”. (see notes on the next page)
Select the number of periods for your fiscal year (Annual, Twice a
Year, Quarterly, Monthly or Custom). Page down to scroll through the
list, if necessary.
7. If you select custom periods, the Custom Period screen appears.
i. Select “End Date 1”
to set period 1 end date.
ii. Type in the end date of the period and select “OK”.
iii. Select “End Date 2”
to set period 2 end date.
iv. Type in the end date of the period and select “OK” again
to exit the Custom Period menu.
NOTE:
Period 1 is the current period and period 2 is the
running total i.e. YTD.
