FM wire antenna
• Connect the FM wire antenna to the FM UNBAL
75
Ω
in the same way as the AM antenna.
Fo r best r esults, extend the FM antenna fully and fix to a
wall o r doo r f r ame. Don’t d r a p e loosely o r leave coiled u p .
Connecting external antennas
To im pr ove FM r ece p tion connect an exte r nal FM
antenna to the FM UNBAL 75
Ω
.
To im pr ove AM r ece p tion, connect a 5 m to 6 m length of
vinyl-coated wi r e to the AM LOOP te r minals without
disconnecting the su pp lied AM loo p antenna.

Plugging in the receiver
Afte r you’ve finished making all connections, p lug the
r eceive r into an AC outlet.
The ty p e of co r d and the p lug conve r te r which can be
used de p ends on the p owe r voltage in each r egion o r
count r y. Please make su r e you use the co rr ect co r d and
p lug conve r te r due to the p ossibility of fi r e o r othe r haza r d
if used inco rr ectly (see below).
Caution
• Handle the p owe r co r d by the p lug p a r t. Do not p ull
out the p lug by tugging the co r d, and neve r touch the
p owe r co r d when you r hands a r e wet, as this could
cause a sho r t ci r cuit o r elect r ic shock. Do not p lace
the unit, a p iece of fu r nitu r e, o r othe r object on the
p owe r co r d o r p inch the co r d in any othe r way. Neve r
make a knot in the co r d o r tie it with othe r cables. The
p owe r co r ds should be r outed so that they a r e not
likely to be ste pp ed on. A damaged p owe r co r d can
cause a fi r e o r give you an elect r ic shock. Check the
p owe r co r d once in a while. If you find it damaged,
ask you r nea r est Pionee r autho r ized inde p endent
se r vice com p any fo r a r e p lacement.
• Do not use any p owe r co r d othe r than the one
su pp lied with this unit.
• Do not use the su pp lied p owe r co r d fo r any p u rp ose
othe r than that desc r ibed below.
• The r eceive r should be disconnected by r emoving the
mains p lug f r om the wall socket when not in r egula r
use, e.g., when on vacation.
• Make su r e the blue  STANDBY/ON light has gone
out befo r e un p lugging.
1 Plug the supplied power cord into the AC IN socket
on the back of the receiver.
2 Plug the other end into a power outlet.
