Connecting antennas
The su pp lied antennas pr ovide a sim p le way to listen to
AM and FM r adio. If you find that r ece p tion quality is
p oo r , an outdoo r antenna should give you bette r sound
quality—see Connecting external antennas on p age 28.
AM loop antenna
1 Assemble the stand as shown in the illustration.

• Bend the stand in the di r ection indicated (
fig. A
).
• Cli p the loo p into the stand (
fig. B
).
• It’s p ossible to fix the AM antenna to a wall (
fig. C
).
Befo r e fixing, make su r e that the r ece p tion is
satisfacto r y.
2 Pull off the protective shields of both AM antenna
wires.
3 Press the AM LOOP antenna terminal tabs to open
and insert one wire into each terminal.
4 Release the tabs to secure the AM antenna wires.
5 Place the AM antenna on a flat surface and point in
the direction giving the best reception.
Avoid p lacing nea r com p ute r s, television sets o r othe r
elect r ical a pp liances and do not let it come into contact
with metal objects.
