Set up the printer port as follows:

Settings
and then click
Printers
.
The Printers window is displayed.
• For Windows XP Professional, click
[Start]

Control Panel

Printers and Other Hardware
icon, then click
Printers and Faxes
icon.

Click your printer with the right mouse button.

Ports
tab.

[Add Port...]

Standard TCP/IP Port
from the Available port types list, then click
[New
Port...]
.
The Add Standard TCP /IP Printer Port Wizard window is displayed.

Enter the IP Address or host name of the printer in the
Printer Name or IP
Address
box, then click
[Next >]
.

If the designated printer is set not to use HP JetAdmin (
see page 162
),

• Click on the
Start printing after last page is spooled
check button in the
Advanced
tab.

f the check box “
Use HP JetAdmin
” is enabled within the Network Setup Tool, then the Standard
TCP/IP Port setup is left in the original configuration using the “
RAW, port 9100
”. Only if the check box
is disabled in the Network Setup Tool utility, customization of the port will be required. (
see “LPR Port
Printing using TCP/IP in Windows 2000 or Windows XP” on page 99
).
