Step 2: Setting up TCP/IP on the printer
You need to set the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway for the printer. Set them by using
one of the following three methods. You may need to contact your network administrator to select the
best way.
• Using the DHCP server (see below)
• Using the Network Setup Tool (see
page 108
)
• Using the Printer Panel (see
page 21
in "Settings and Printing")
NOTE:
• You can also setup the printer using BOOTP or RARP.
■
Using the DHCP server
If the administrator manages the network with DHCP server, it is possible to assign IP Address, Subnet
Mask and Default Gateway automatically from DHCP server by default. Those can be viewed by
printing out the configuration page.
1
Press
MENU/EXIT (Pause)
button on the printer panel to enter the Menu mode.
2
Press
!
(
CONTINUE
) button until
Test Page
menu appears.
3
Press

button.
Menu Map menu appears.
4
Press
!
(
CONTINUE
) button until
Configuration Page
menu appears.
5
Press
ENTER
button.
The configuration page will be printed.
6
Confirm the IP Address on the configuration page.
NOTE:
• If the printer receives the IP Address with unlimited lease term, the printer keeps the address
permanently. The printer saves the address statically and the DHCP function becomes disable
automatically.
