3. 2. 1 Level 1 FIP
Procedure
Ask the operator about the problem.
• When the trouble applies to a Fault Code (including Paper/
Document Jam), go to the Level 2 FIP to repair the trouble.
• If the trouble is abnormal sound or smell, select a mode of
the machine (1-Sided/2-Sided, with/without the Finisher)
and find the main cause of the trouble using your five
senses to repair the trouble.
Did the operator operate the machine properly?

Explain the proper operation to the operator.
Is UI displaying?

Refer to the BSD (CH2.X) to repair the UI display error.
Does this trouble occur only in the print mode?
Y

Does this trouble occur only in the copy mode?
Y

If the trouble comes from the accessories check that
the machine settings are correct and refer to the
appropriate service manual to repair the trouble.
Is it an image quality trouble?
Y
N
If the alignment has trouble, obtain the samples of
platen/DADF respectively and refer to Chapter 2 to
repair the trouble.
Refer to Chapter 8, 8.1 Image Data Flow and identify the
failed PWB by printing the PG stored in the IIT/IPS in
sequence from the downstream of the flow to repair the
trouble.

Problems caused by a certain Client PC

About problems caused by a certain APL:
: Get the latest restriction and technical
information from your technical support
divisions.
: If unable, contact the NTS or your
technical support divisions to get the
information and repair the trouble.
Check the setting of certain Client PC and ask
the customer to re-install the printer driver as
required.
Refer to Chapter 8, 8.1 Image Data Flow and
identify the failed PWB by printing the PG stored in
the IIT/IPS in sequence from the downstream of the
flow to repair the trouble.
If the trouble persists, ask the customer to re-install
the printer driver.
If the trouble persists, there may be the trouble of the
MCU PWB inputs that cannot be analyzed by the PG.
Therefore, replace the MCU PWB.
Check the setting of the machine and ask the customer to
re-install the printer driver as required.
If the trouble persists, replace the parallel cable.
Check the settings of the machine and consult the network
administrator of the customer side.
