Check the +5 VDC circuit to the TRAY 2
PAPER SIZE SENSOR J816-1 by referring to
Chapter 4 Wiring Data.

(WN4.3.7 +5 VDC-3) (WN4.3.8 +5 VDC-4)
Check the Paper Guide for an operation failure, and
the tab that pushes the SWITCH for a poor contact. If
no problems are found, replace the TRAY 2 PAPER
SIZE SENSOR. (PL15.9/PL14.15)
Check the wire between the TRAY 2 SIZE SENSOR J816-
2 and the TRAY MODULE PWB J546-8 for an open
circuit and poor contact.
Replace the following parts:
• TRAY MODULE PWB (PL15.9/PL14.15)
007-274 MSI PAPER SIZE SENSOR BROKEN
Description MSI PAPER SIZE SENSOR connector is
discon nected.
BSD on : CH7.9 CH7.10B
Procedure
Check the wire between the MSI PAPER SIZE SENSOR and
the circuit board for a disconnected connector, poor contact, and
open circuit. If no problems are found, replace the I/F PWB
(PL9.1) and MCU PWB (PL13.1) in sequence.
Run
DC140 [007-100].
When the MSI SIZE SENSOR was moved, has the AD value
changed?
Y N
Is 3.3 VDC measured between the SIZE SENSOR J265-1
and J265-3?
Y N
Check conductivity of the following:
• Between the I/F PWB J532-B5 and SIZE
SENSOR J265-1
• Between the I/F PWB J532-B3 and SIZE
SENSOR J265-3
Run DC140 [007-100].
When the MSI SIZE SENSOR was moved, does the
voltage of the J265-2 change?

Check conductivity of the following:
• Between the I/F PWB J532-B4 and SIZE
SENSOR J265-2
Replace the following parts:
• I/F PWB (PL9.1)
• MCU PWB (PL13.1)
Replace the following parts:
• I/F PWB (PL9.1)
• MCU PWB (PL13.1)
007-276 TRAY 3 PAPER SIZE SENSOR BROKEN (TTM)
Description The abnormal AD value was detected by the
TRAY 3 PAPER SIZE SENSOR.

Procedure
Install the TRAY 3 into the M/C.
Does the voltage between the TRAY MODULE PWB J548-11
(+) and GND (-) correspond to the TRAY 3 PAPER SIZE
SENSOR Output Table described in the BSD: CH7.3?

Does the voltage between the TRAY 3 PAPER SIZE
SENSOR J820-2 (+) and GND (-) correspond to the TRAY
3 SIZE SENSOR Output Table described in the BSD:
CH7.3?

Is +5 VDC measured between the TRAY 3 SIZE
SENSOR J820-1 (+) and J820-3 (-)?

Check the +5 VDC circuit to the TRAY 3
