Remove the cause of STAPLE HEAD not moving, such as
rail breakage, drag, and gnawed gear.
Enter

Turn the STAPLE FRONT CORNER SENSOR On/Off.
Is the display switched between H and L?

Check the STAPLE FRONT CORNER SENSOR using the
Generic Permeable Sensor Failure FIP.
Cheat the FRONT COVER INTERLOCK SWITCH.

Was the STAPLE MOVE MOTOR activated?

Is +24 VDC measured between the FINISHER PWB J847-
3 (+) and GND (-)?

Is +24 VDC measured between the FINISHER PWB
J844-4 (+) and GND (-)?

Check the INTLK ON +24 VDC circuit to the
FINISHER PWB J844-4 by referring to the BSD
CH11.1.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
Check the wire between the FINISHER PWB J847 and the
STAPLER MOVE MOTOR J888 for an open circuit or
poor contact. If no problems are found, replace the
STAPLER MOVE MOTOR (PL15.9) and the FINISHER
PWB (PL15.13) in sequence.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
012-257 STAPLE FRONT CORNER SENSOR OFF
FAILURE
Description
In either one of the following cases:
• The STAPLE FRONT CORNER SENSOR does not turn
Off after the move from FRONT CORNER has completed.
• The STAPLE FRONT CORNER SENSOR does not turn
Off within 200 ms after starting to move from FRONT
CORNER.
BSD on : CH11.7 CH11.11B
Procedure
Open the FINISHER FRONT COVER. Turn the STAPLE
HEAD ASSEMBLY manually.
Does the STAPLE HEAD move smoothly without any load?
Y
N
Remove the cause of STAPLE HEAD not moving, such as

[012-225] and turn it On.
Turn the STAPLE FRONT CORNER SENSOR On/Off.
Is the display switched between H and L?

Check the STAPLE FRONT CORNER SENSOR using the
Generic Permeable Sensor Failure FIP.
Cheat the FRONT COVER INTERLOCK SWITCH.

FINISHER PWB J844-4 by referring to the BSD
CH11.1.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
Check the wire between the FINISHER PWB J847 and the
STAPLER MOVE MOTOR J888 for an open circuit or
poor contact. If no problems are found, replace the
STAPLER MOVE MOTOR (PL15.9) and the FINISHER
PWB (PL15.13) in sequence.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
012-260 EJECT CLAMP HOME SENSOR ON
FAILURE
Description
The EJECT CLAMP HOME SENSOR does not
turn On within 500 ms after the EJECT CLAMP UP has started.
BSD on : CH11.9 CH11.11B
Procedure
Replace the FINISHER REAR COVER.
Remove the EJECT CLAMP HOME SENSOR BRACKET.
(Leave the Connector plugged in)
Enter
DC330
[012-210] and turn it On.
Turn On/Off the EJECT CLAMP HOME SENSOR with a sheet
of paper, etc.
Is the display switched between H and L?
Y
N
Check the EJECT CLAMP HOME SENSOR using the
Generic Permeable Sensor Failure FIP.
Restore the Sensor to the original state.
Enter

[012-034] and turn it On.
Was the ELECT CLAMP up?
Y

Was the operating sound of the EJECT MOTOR audible?
Though it is possible to run the following Diag on
the machine not installed with the Finisher, an error
will be displayed.
