Chapter 3 Troubleshooting
3. 4. 4. 10 DC301 NVM Initialization (System Data)
Function Executes initialization for the desired NVM Area.
[NVM initialization/ Lo-ID when performing ROM_Ver.UP]
Condition: Lo-ID when NVM initialization/ ROM_Ver.UP is performed will appear from New
Deve to 1000 sheets (including the time for the installation). After new installation, or during
about 1.0 kpv right after replacing the developer material in Field, it is comparatively hard for the
developer material to develop. If ROM_Ver.UP/NVM are initialized in this status, the density may
be somewhat lighter because the default value of the LD light quantity is set for stable status of the
developer material (the status for the material to develop with comparative ease: the status passing
1.5 kpv from the initialization) In this case, the density needs to be recovered by the following
process. Raise the LD light quantity NVM of the appropriate color (752-375~378: YMCK) to
400~450. Turn the power Off/On to print again. (Or, repeat the Power Off/On + Printing process
or repeat DC934 ADC Check to recover the density. ) This servicing can restore the density to its
status before ROM_Ver.Up/NVM has been initialized.
A. Initialization Procedure
1. Select the "System Data (NVM)" tab on the Service Mode screen.
2. Select [
DC301
] on the System Data screen.
3. The NVM Initialization screen is displayed.
4. Select the desired target module from the [Specify a Module] in the Initialize area.
5. Select [Execute].
6. "[?] If initialization is executed, NVM data will be initialized. Are you sure you want to
execute?" is displayed on the confirmation message screen.
7. Select [Yes].
8. The message "XXX NVM Initialization in progress" is displayed.
9. When the initialization is completed successfully, "XXX NVM Initialization completed
successfully" will be displayed in the Execution Condition column. When the initialization
is not completed successfully, "XXX NVM Initialization not completed successfully" will
be displayed in the Execution Condition column.
10. The message "Execution Completed" is displayed after all initialization of the specified
area are completed.
At NVM Initialize, the settings related to Billing Counter, M/C Serial No., Market,
HFSI, Shutdown History, Jam/Failure Counter are not initialized. Shutdown History and
Jam/Failure Counters are cleared during Execution Completed operation specified at
Diag Exit.
DCC400G can do only the initialization with the module specified.
All Selection and Dust Off are not available.
Notes at NVM Initialize
• Take notes on the NVM values (752-804~807 in the order of Y, M, C, and K) for the
deterioration correction before NVM Initialize, and input the noted NVM value
after the NVM Initialize. If you do not do this process, the initial density variations
may occur again.]
• Take notes on the NVM values (752-683~686 in the order of Y, M, C, and K) of the
cumulative Disp time before NVM Initialize, and input the noted NVM value after
the NVM Initialize. If you do not do this process, the display of the Toner Indicator
will become inaccurate.]
• Take out the detection sheet that is installed in the machine after the NVM Initialize,
and set up the ATC sensor using the Comparison Table of the ATC barcode values
for each color and the sensor sensitivity that is described in the sheet in DC921. If
you do not do this process, the Toner Density Control will not work properly and
may cause image troubles.]
