When the Principal Structural Components are in Close Proximity to the Wall Backing Materials
(when there is no distance between the backing materials and principal structural components)

Dimension “X” must not be more than 170 mm (6

in.). If this maximum is exceeded, consult with a
building contractor and take the steps to ensure that the reinforcing work at least equivalent to what was
described in sections I and II above is carried out.

Locate a place where there are no backing materials, and make cutouts in the inside wall to accommodate
the mounting of the M8 anchors. Refer to the figure at the top right for the specific dimensions of the

all the way through to the principal structural component as above. For details on installing the anchors,

thick)”(page 20). Ensure that the installation strength is at least as great as the specified pull-out strength of
the anchors which is 5,197.5 N [530 k

Provide reinforcement at least equivalent to that in section II, and install the up/down unit.
