FT1020G3 Rev 2.10.4
All the display modules have a slot in them for the placement of a label for the individual
control group of the display module.
5.4.1
Power monitor and loop connection module 1204
1204
Module is designed as an interface point between a rack of new display modules and
a loop in the FT1020G3. Only one 1204 required for every 19” ancillary rack and uses a
reserved slot (first slot) as shown in Figure 13 below.
Note:
Rack capacity is 8 single space modules (50mm) or 4 double space modules
(100mm). If double space modules e.g. 1205, 1206 or 1211 to be mounted on the ancillary
rack, only 4 modules can be mounted.
The
1204
supplies power to the display modules mounted on one 19” rack plate using the
ribbon cable CA380, the power is protected from excessive current via auto-resettable
fuses on the 1204 PCB. Requires 4HP (20mm) space at the beginning of the ancillary rack
and one COM loop address connected via plug-in terminals.
The
1204
has a green polling LED which will flash whenever the module is polled or
communicated with the FDCIE as well as LED indicators for the 5V and 24V rail. Should
either rail becomes faulty, this will be reported to the FDCIE. The Loop is opto-isolated from
the power rail. Each module uses about 4mA of Loop current.

5.4.2
Zone Control Module 1205
Each
1205
Zone Control Module consists of a universal I/O matrix 4582 circuit and controls
/ indications combined in one PCB specifically configured to provide up to 15 individual
zone alarm and zone fault indicators as well as a disablement control with indicator to
indicate switch activation. This is an upgraded version over the old 4582 / SUB900
combination. The module is normally mounted on the 19” rack mount ancillary rack in the
FDCIE cabinet but it is also possible to connect a rack of modules remotely via a COM loop
and 24V supply.
The
1205
module is programmed in EBLWin as an “I/O matrix board 4582” for “Zone
Control”. Requires 2 x 10HP (100 mm) space on the ancillary rack. Internally connected to
COM loop 0 similar to expansion boards 458x but it can be wired to any other loop. Refer
to the limitation of 4582 shown in Table 3 page 16.
The Zone Control Module is used as a simple and easy access to disable (isolate) individual
zones for service and maintenance purposes as well as providing zone alarm and zone
fault indications. The front display layout is shown in Figure 14 below.
The disable control allows a specific zone to be temporarily disabled. This is typically used
where building works or maintenance procedures are being carried out in a localised area
of a building.
For programming and more information refer to the “help” in EBLWin and to drawing no.
