6.2 Cleaning the Mirror (cont.)

Shut down the gas flow through the optical absorption cell.
a.
Turn the inlet isolation needle valve (item 4 in
or
) to the closed position.
b.
Ensure that the sample flow rotatmeter indicates zero flow.
3.
Wear a pair of disposable static dissipative Latex or Nitrile (powder free) gloves.
Note:
There are two versions of the Aurora optical absorption cell assembly (see
Figure 83
below), each with its
own mirror mounting mechanism. The mirror can be removed from the end of this cell for cleaning
WITHOUT DISMOUNTING
the cell. Be sure to follow the correct mirror cleaning procedure for your version of
the optical absorption cell assembly.
