7. Place the wet lens tissue on top of the mirror and drag it horizontally across the surface of the mirror, while
holding it on with a pair of plastic-tipped tweezers (see Figure 95 below). Ensure that minimal liquid residue or
streaks are left behind on the mirror surface.

8. Use the air blower to blow dry air onto the surface of the mirror while holding it with the tweezers. Puff repeatedly
until the mirror surface appears dry (see Figure 90 on page 6 ).
9. Repeat Steps 6-8 above at least three times, using a new lens tissue each time. Each lens tissue wetted with
acetone is used only once to clean off any visible residue on the mirror surface.
10. Visually inspect the mirror, and record any observation of residual contamination.
11. If the mirror does NOT appear clean after repeated cleaning, contact BH Technical Support for further assistance.
12. If the mirror does appear to be clean, replace it into the mirror end cap, taking care not to disturb the two O-rings
in the assembly (see Figure 96 below), Prepare to re-install the mirror end cap assembly into the optical
absorption cell.
