7. Maintenance
7.1 Care and maintenance of UPS sys-
tems/batteries
To ensure a long service life of the system, the area around the UPS
system should be kept clean and free of dust. If the area around the
system is very dusty, clean the outer surfaces of the system using
a vacuum cleaner.
To ensure a long service life of the batteries, the ambient tempera-
ture should lie below 25°C.
NOTE
The batteries of the UPS system are designed for a service life
of 3 to 5 years. However, the service life of a battery
varies depending on the frequency of use and ambient tem-
perature. After expiration of the expected service life, batteries
which continue to be used frequently have reduced running
times. Replace the batteries every five years at the latest so
that the system can provide optimal power at any time.
