When the machine is not operating correctly
Symptom
Possible Cause
Remedy
Nothing appears on the
display.
Is only the indicator on the [Start]
key lit up in green?
The machine has entered Power Save
mode.
Press any key in the control panel to
cancel Power Save mode. (See
page 2-19.)
Was the auto shut-off operation per-
formed?
Set the power switch to “O”. (See
page 2-17.)
The indicator on the [Start]
key does not light up.
Was the account number entered?
Enter the account number according
to the procedure described in “Enter-
ing the account number” on
page 5-34.
Even though the [Start]
key is pressed, no copies
are made.
Is the “Error” indicator on the control
panel lit?
Follow the instructions in any mes-
sages that appear on the display.
The machine is still warming up after
just being turned on.
Omega 1640
takes about 30 sec-
onds and
Omega 2140
takes
about 15 seconds to warm up after
they are turned on.
Wait until the machine has finished
warming up.
The machine does not en-
ter Copy mode.
Is the indicator on the [Interrupt] key
lit?
Press the [Interrupt] key to cancel In-
terrupt mode. (See page 4-62.)
The machine cannot be
turned on.
Has the power supply cord been un-
plugged from the electrical outlet?
Plug the power supply cord into the
electrical outlet.
Has the breaker for the electrical cir-
cuit been tripped?
Close the breaker for the electrical
circuit.
