104 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
REPLACING THE PRINT CARTRIDGE
When the print cartridge needs replacing the message “Out of ink” is displayed. The operator must:
•
replace the print cartridge if the head is fitted with an interchangeable cartridge
or
•
replace the print head if a disposable head is used.
If the fax machine is fitted with a print head with interchangeable print cartridge, the latter may be replaced
6 times, after which, it is necessary to replace the entire head to avoid any deterioration in print quality.
This section deals with print cartridge replacement only, while the next explains how to replace the entire
print head.

When the cartridge needs replacing the following message is displayed:
1.
Open the printer cover.
2.
Release the print cartridge by pressing the black lever as
shown.
3.
Remove the cartridge.
