ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE PRINT HEAD AND MANUAL CHECKING OF THE NOZZLES
If you notice a deterioration in the print quality during normal use, you can use a brief procedure which
cleans the print head and checks the nozzles giving a diagnostic result of their condition.
The display shows the initial operating mode.
1.
Press FUNCTION to select the FAX SET-UP menu.
2.
Press START.
3.
Press FUNCTION repeatedly until the HEAD MAINTENANCE
sub-menu appears.
4.
Press START.
The cleaning parameter is displayed. Select CLEANING.
5.
Press START.
The fax starts the print head cleaning and nozzle checking
operation. It will finally give a printed diagnostic result of their
condition.
INTERPRETATION OF THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULT
The print test carried out by the facsimile machine contains a numbered scale and a message concerning
the operating status of the nozzles.
Correct
If the numbered scale appears as in the figure below:
and the message displayed is “ALL NOZZLES OK!”, this means that the print head is correctly inserted
and all the electrical circuits are working. Press STOP to return to the initial operating mode.
Defective:
If the numbered scale appears as in the figure below:
and the message displayed is “ALL NOZZLES OK!”, this means that there is a mechanical problem
(caused by air bubbles or dirt). If this is the case, consult the table below:
