What is meant by dialling
Dialling refers to the input of the recipient’s telephone number or fax number.
Uses of dialling
Dialling a phone number provides a normal telephone connection either using the telephone connected to
the machine or from the numeric keypad on the fax machine itself.
Dialling a fax number serves to transmit a document. You can dial a fax number either using the
telephone connected to the machine or from the numeric keypad on the fax machine. See section:

Different dialling methods
There are a number of different ways in which you can dial a phone number or fax number. These are
divided into manual and automatic methods and can, in turn, be subdivided.
Manual dialling:
•
Dialling the phone or fax number directly from the telephone connected to the fax machine.
•
Dialling the phone or fax number from the numeric keypad on the fax machine.
Automatic dialling:
•
One touch dialling (available after programming). You can store frequently used phone or fax
numbers in the machine's memory by programming the one touch keys. These numbers can then be
dialled simply by pressing the corresponding key.
•
Speed dialling (available after programming). You can also store fax or phone numbers under two-digit
codes. These numbers can then be dialled by pressing the SPEED DIAL key and entering the code.
