108 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
AUTOMATIC CHECKING AND CLEANING OF THE PRINT NOZZLES
Immediately after the print head has been replaced and the printer cover closed, the machine
automatically tests and cleans the print nozzles. The result of this test is printed on a sheet which the
machine feeds the moment the lack of ink is detected. The machine asks you to judge whether or not the
print quality is satisfactory or if you want to repeat the procedure.

The ink cartridge or the entire print head has just been replaced.

On closing the printer cover, the fax machine automatically tests
and cleans the print nozzles, and then generates a test printout
containing a graduated scale, graphic images and text.
At the end of this procedure the message
“CHECK PRINT OUT” is displayed.

the scale is not interrupted and the dark areas do not contain
white lines, the print quality is to be considered satisfactory.
Otherwise repeat the test procedure.

Enter 1 if the print quality is acceptable. The machine will return
to the initial operating mode.
or
enter 0 to repeat the procedure. The machine will repeat the test
printout.

the print quality is still unsatisfactory after a number of
repeated tests, replace the entire print head or the cartridge.
