* If you make a call from a hotel, the fees may be charged by

Use in the local area
This FOMA N705i is available in 3G, GPRS and GSM
roaming area. When the FOMA terminal is turned on
after you arrive the destination overseas, a local
roaming operator is automatically set.

Display, date and time
While using the FOMA terminal overseas, the name
of the operator connected appears on the standby
screen.

When the auto time difference setting is “Auto”, the
main clock is automatically switched in the local
time. When the sub clock setting is “Auto (during
roaming)”, the sub clock displays the Japan time.

Regardless of “Set main time” setting, the received
address list are time stamped as the date and time
in Japan standard time.

When “
” remains on the screen, set “NW
search mode” to “Auto”. It may take some time to
search network just after turning on the FOMA
terminal and “
” may appear while searching.

If the used network or operator does not notify the
caller ID, the caller ID does not appear on the
FOMA terminal screen and displays “Unknown” or
“withholding” even when the caller ID is notified.
The FOMA terminal screen also displays
“Unknown” even when “Caller ID Request Service”
is set.

After returning to Japan
When you returned to Japan and turn on the FOMA
terminal, the network will be automatically searched
and set to the FOMA network (DoCoMo).

Making a Call Abroad
You can use the international roaming service to
make voice or videophone calls from abroad.
Making a local call abroad
To make a call, dial the phone number of the other
party’s ordinary phone or mobile phone as making a
call in Japan.

The “Int’l dial assistance” message may appear
when you use the phonebook to make a call. Select
“Original phone No.”.

If the area code (long distance code) begins with
“0”, omit the first “0”. However, to call to ordinary

You can easily dial the number by storing the country
name and codes of a party you often call to “Int’l dial
assistance”.
