Errors and Alarms

3.1

Audible Warnings from the BIUs

3.1.1

Single Beep: Invalid action

A single short beep is sounded if the requested action is not permitted in the given
situation, e.g. when the operator presses a key assigned to an already active se-
lection.

3.1.2

Three Short Beeps: Takeover Alarm

Three short beeps are sounded when a control offer from the respective BIU has
been accepted by the called position when an offer from another position has
been accepted or control has been taken using the Takeover method.

3.1.3

Four Long Beeps: Takeover Reminder Alarm

Four long beeps are sounded when control has been offered but has not yet been
accepted by the calling position. The alarm sounds at the calling as well as the
called position.

Note

The takeover alarm will be also be sounded when a steering position comes into
control or loses control when switching between bus and non-bus steering modes.
Depending on the system configuration, the takeover alarm may be permanently
disabled at certain or all BIUs.
