Powerup Test
Function:
Enables or disables the test routine at power-up.
Settings:
ON
Enables the power-up test routine. When powering up, the unit
will test the ROM, RAM and EEPROM before starting normal op-
eration.
OFF
Disables the power-up test routine. When powering up, the unit
will start normal operation without any test.
Service I/O
Function:
Configures the internal RS-232 service interface.
Settings:
Disabled
Disables the service interface. The interface should always be
disabled after service has been completed and the system is put
back into normal operation.
9600 baud
Enables the interface and sets the baudrate to 9600 baud.
28800 baud
Enables the interface and sets the baudrate to 28800 baud.
57600 baud
Enables the interface and sets the baudrate to 57600 baud.
Note
At the time of writin of this manual, no equipment is available that uses the BIUs
internal service interface.
Acoustic Alarm
Function:
Enables or disables the audible alarm
Settings:
ON
Enables the audible alarm. Always choose this setting.
OFF
Disables the audible alarm. For factory use only. Never choose
this setting for a unit installed on a vessel.
