Steering Mode Changes due to Control Transfer
In most installations, not all steering modes will be available at all steering posi-
tions. Hence, when control is transferred from one steering position to another, a
change of steering mode may occur.
If possible, the system will retain the active steering mode when control is trans-
ferred between positions.
If the active steering mode is not available at the position to which control is being
transferred, the position transfer will take place nonetheless. The following cases
of a change of steering mode due to control transfer may occur:
– Transferring control in steering mode FU to a position where FU is not
available will result in steering mode Auto becoming active.
– Transferring control in steering mode Auto to a position where Auto is not
avialable will result in steering mode FU becoming active.
– Transferring control in steering mode External (only available at the Main
steering position) to a Remote position will result in steering mode FU be-
coming active, if FU is available at the Remote position. If FU is not availa-
ble at the Remote position, steering mode Auto will become active.
Note
In systems which provide a dedicated „Remote“ steering mode, the system will re-
tain the steering mode which was active prior to selecting the „Remote“ mode, if
possible. After control has been transferred, the operator at the Remote position is
free to change over to any other steering mode available at that position.
