Installing the Passport 5430 Chassis

Verifying Site Requirements

The installation site must provide free space around the Passport 5430

(Table 1-2)

to dissipate heat and allow for cable management and CRU installation and
removal.

The installation site must also meet the electrical and environmental specifications
listed in Appendix A.

Installing the Passport 5430

To install the Passport 5430, you have two options:

•

Position the Passport 5430 on a flat, sturdy, horizontal surface.

•

Mount the Passport 5430 in an equipment rack.

Positioning the Passport 5430 on a Flat Surface

When positioning the Passport 5430 on a flat surface, make sure that the surface is
large enough for the Passport 5430 to operate properly

(Table 1-2)

and sturdy

enough to support the combined weight of the Passport 5430 and any cables that
you attach to it.
