To set the date, enter the current day, month, and year in mo/day/year
format.
Drives
The drive parameters let you check and change settings for your drives, in-
cluding internal hard drives, diskette drives, the CD-ROM reader and dock-
ing station hard drives.
“Yes” for Boot Docking Station IDE boots from the docking station. “No”
boots from either the internal hard drive or from the internal CD-ROM
drive, if installed.
Peripherals
The Peripherals screen displays the connection location between the system
and the Input/Output (I/O) ports.
Power Savings
The Power Savings screen lets you balance high performance and energy
conservation using parameters including the following.
NOTE
Some operating systems such as Windows for Workgroups
and Windows 95 have their own power management software which
overrides CMOS settings. In this case, be sure to set your desired
power management settings accordingly.

Power Management Under AC Normally, whenever AC power is con-
nected to the NEC Versa 6000, power management is disabled. If you
enable this parameter, the system automatically activates the power man-
agement profile you set.

Power Savings
A Highest Performance setting provides the greatest
system performance. Longest Battery Life provides maximum power
saving, and Off disables all device timeouts. You can also customize
power management by selecting Custom Settings and entering values for
device timeouts.
