General Description 2-11
Do not shut down NEC Express5800/ft series during the duplication process of PCI
modules
Do not perform shutdown while PCI modules are being duplicated (when starting
the machine or when mounting a PCI module).
→
The following phenomena occur when shutdown is performed:
•
The mirror of hard disk drives is cancelled.
For details, see “Primary PCI module’s status LED2 and DISK ACCESS LED
illuminate amber after startup:” of “Problems with NEC Express5800/ft series” of
“SOLVING PROBLEMS” in Chapter 7 “Troubleshooting” in this User’s Guide.
•
Duplication of LANs is cancelled and communication cannot be established the
next time the machine is started.
[About recovery]
•
“!” is displayed on Device Manager.
When “!” is displayed for a network adaptor (excluding “Intel(R) Advanced
Network Services Virtual Adapter)” on Device Manager, reinstall the driver to
that adapter (“Update Driver···”).
•
The “Intel(R) Advanced Network Services Virtual Adapter”, “Client for
Microsoft Networks”, and “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks”
checkboxes are cleared (they cannot be selected).
On the [Network Connections] dialog box, select “Intel® Advanced Network
Services Virtual Adapter”, display its properties, and check if the “Client for
Microsoft Networks” and “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks”
checkboxes are selected.
If an error occurs when these checkboxes are selected and trying to exit,
uninstall “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” and restart the system, and then, install
“Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” again.
Do not shut down NEC Express5800/ft series during the duplication process of CPU
modules.
Do not perform shutdown when CPU modules are being duplicated (while starting
NEC Express5800/ft series or when mounting a CPU module)
Check that the following event is recorded to the system event log and then perform
shutdown:
<Duplication completion event of CPU modules>
Source: srabid
ID: 4137
Description: Memory consistency check has completed memory scan.
→
If shutdown is performed during the duplication process, the duplication process
of the CPU modules may fail at next startup.
