Procedure
Replace the Cutter Solenoid Assembly
1.
Remove the Panel Cover.
2.
Remove the Front Cover.
3.
Remove the Y Rail Cover.
4.
Disconnect connector J206 (SOL) from the Head Board Assembly.
5.
Remove the Head Cover.
6.
Move the Head 20 to 30 cm to the left.
7.
Undo the two screws on the left edge of the head and remove the
cutter unit.
8.
Remove the screw holding the cutter cap.
9.
Undo the two screws holding the solenoid to the cutter box and
take the solenoid from the box.
10. Assembling is the reverse of the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
When removing the cutter blade, the head
must first be moved to a position over the
cutter mat. If the tip of the cutter blade hits
against the front paper guide, the tip will be
chipped and will no longer be able to cut.
« REFERENCE » There are two types of springs inside the cut-
ter unit, the solenoid spring and the cutter
spring. Be careful not to lose them when you
are dismantling.
1. When the cutter unit is being assembled its position relative to the
cutter mat must be adjusted. Refer to Figure A and fasten it in the
correct position.

Fix so that the front corner of
the cutter mat groove and the
flat part of the cutter blade are
aligned.
« REFERENCE »
This rib should cover at least half
the flat part of the cutter mat. Move
the head to make sure that both left
and right edges cover at least one-third.
