Trouble
The Mova cannot be used.
Cannot power the Mova ON.
Cannot place a call even if you press the
keypad.
Cannot place a call during i-mode.
The message “

” appears in
the display and does not disappear.
“
” appears and cannot operate anything.
The dark display or the clock appears and
cannot operate anything.
The incoming indicator flashes in certain cycle.
The charge indicator stays lit.
The set stand-by display does not appear and
the dark display appears. The power saver
indicator stays flashing.
The Mail/Message tone does not sound and the
incoming indicator does not flash.
The Mail tone different from the one you set
sounds when receiving mail.
The radio cannot be heard clearly.
The radio is heard even if the Manner mode is
set.
Even if [Earphone only] is set for the Earphone,
the radio sound is still heard through the
speaker.
Pressing
does not affect the volume
of the ring tone, etc.
When answering a call while listening to the
radio, there is no response on the phone.
The radio turns off unexpectedly.
Cause and Remedy
• Check if the battery pack is attached properly (P.23).
• Check if the battery pack is not run out (P.26).
• Check if the Lock key is set (P.79).
• Check if the battery pack is attached properly (P.23).

• Check if the Self mode is set (P.78).
• Check if the Lock key is set (P.79).
• Check if other than [Answer] is set for the Call during i-mode (P.111).
• Check if “forward to the Voice mail 1451”, “forward to a forwarding
number 1452” or “play a busy tone 1459” is set for the responses
to calls during i-mode communication (P.169, 171).
• The traffic is heavy. Call again after a while. Press
for over
a second to delete the message (P.32).
A call to emergency numbers (110, 119, 118) is still available.
However, the call may not be connected in some cases.
• Check if the Lock key is set (P.79).
• Check if the Mova is powered ON (P.27).
• Check if the Power saver mode is [ON] (P.68).
• Check if the Lock key is set (press
to cancel the Power
saver and “

• Check if there are Missed calls or unread mail (P.71).

In this setting, it may take time to complete the charging, but
this is not a malfunction.

• Check if the AM antenna is covered with your hands (P.87).

listen to the radio, keep the Mova as away from such equipment
as possible (P.87).
• Check if you use the radio with the DC adapter, hands-free
compatible devices, or data link cable connected to the Mova.
Listen to the radio after removing these devices (P.25, 38, 87, 206).
• Check if the radio is turned on (P.87).
The radio keeps playing even if the Manner mode is set.
• Check if the Sound output switch
is in the “

are only for use with the radio. The volume of a sound
from other than the radio including a ring tone can be adjusted
accordingly, such as using the Volume display of each tone
(P.59, etc.).
• Check if the earphone is connected to the Mova. When it is
connected, a call is available only through the Earphone Mic.
• Check if the battery pack is not run out (P.26).
• Check if the Radio auto off timer is set to either [120 minutes],
[90 minutes], [60 minutes], or [30 minutes] (P.92).
