CHAPTER 9: Troubleshooting
FAILED TO INITIALIZE
CONTACT HELP CENTRE
•
Confirm information keyed in ADMIN 01 (see page 65) is correct. If
problem persists, call the Moneris Merchant Service Centre for
assistance.
FAILED TO INITIALIZE
MERCHANT ID ERROR
•
Problem was found with the Merchant ID number, confirm Merchant
ID number keyed in ADMIN 01 (see page 65) is correct. If problem
persists, call the Moneris Merchant Service Centre for assistance
(see page v).
FAILED TO INITIALIZE
POLL CODE ERROR
•
If using 3201 Communication, confirm Poll Code keyed in ADMIN 08
(see page 68) is correct. If problem persists, call the Moneris Mer-
chant Service Centre for assistance (see page v).
FAILED TO INITIALIZE
PRINTER ID ERROR
•
Printer ID does not match the number keyed in the terminal, confirm
Printer ID PRINTER ID ERROR keyed in ADMIN 01 (see page 65) is
correct. If problem persists, call the Moneris Merchant Service Cen-
tre for assistance (see page v).
INVALID CLERK ID
•
Re-key in transaction and/or re-key the Clerk ID in ADMIN 84 (see
LINE NOT AVAILABLE
•
When using a dial line, confirm that the phone cord is plugged in
tightly at both ends and that no other equipment is using the same
phone line (i.e.: modem/fax/ extension)
•
Plug in a regular phone into the phone jack to ensure there is a dial
tone
•
Verify telephone number keyed in the terminal in ADMIN 01 (see
page 65) to the telephone number listed in the front of this manual.

Call the Moneris Merchant Service Centre for assistance (see
NO ACTIVITY
•
This message is displayed when a request for Clerk Subtotals has
been processed on a Clerk ID that has zero totals.
NO MATCH ON PINPad
CONTACT HELP CENTRE
•
Serial Number in PINPad does not match Serial Number held on
Moneris Solutions computer; check PINPad connection.
•
If problem persists, call the Moneris Merchant Service Centre for
PINPad replacement
REFER CALL
•
Contact the Moneris Authorization centre to obtain a voice authoriza-
tion. Once authorized, process an Advice Transaction (see page 22).
TABLE FULL
•
This terminal can retain 255 different Clerk ID’s and 100 different Ter-
minal Names. This message is displayed when either limit is
reached.

•
The PINPad was waiting for a response, which was not keyed within
the time allotted. Re-try transaction.

Turn printer off (power switch), unplug and re-plug and turn the
printer back on.
