6 INSTALLATION AND WIRING
6.1 IP Address Setting Switch Setting
Setting range
The setting value must be in the range between 1 and 254.
When a value in the range between 1 and 254 is set, the IP address and subnet mask are as follows.
• The first three octets of the IP address: Octets one, two, and three from the IP address of the master station are used for
operation.
• Subnet mask: The subnet mask of the master station is used for operation.
Do not set 0.
When 255 is set, operation is done in unit test mode.
• Do not change the IP address setting switch while the power of the safety remote I/O module is on.
Changing the IP address setting switch while the safety remote I/O module is powered on causes an IP
address setting switch changed error (error code: 0202H) and flashing of the ERR. LED. After the IP
address setting switch is returned to the original settings, the error is automatically recovered 5 seconds
later and the ERR. LED turns off.
• When the power is turned on with the IP address setting switch set to a value in the range 1 to 254, the
safety remote I/O module automatically sets the IP address. Moreover, the IP address and subnet mask are
saved in the non-volatile memory at the time a data link with the master station is established.
• Do not set an IP address with duplicated fourth octet in the access range of CC-Link IE TSN. Duplicated
fourth octet causes the duplicated IP address due to the automatic setting of the first to third octet, resulting
in failure of data link establishment.
The following IP addresses cannot be used for the safety remote I/O module.
• IP addresses whose host addresses are all 0 or 255
• IP addresses whose third and fourth octets are all 255
• IP addresses outside the range 0.0.0.1 to 223.255.255.254
