6.3 Activate automatic tray selection
Automatic tray selection means: If the tray being used is empty, the printer
automatically switches to another tray that contains the same paper size.
In this manner, the machine is capable of printing up to 3,750 sheets
without any interruption.
The following paper source units are not taken into consideration for
automatic tray selection:
G A tray that is selected in the system menu under “Tray Locked“.
G Trays that are reserved for a special paper source.
G Manual feed unit.
To activate automatic tray selection, proceed as follows:
1 Make certain that the READY LCD is displayed and the On
Line control light is lit.
2 Press the [ON LINE] key to switch to Off Line mode.
3 Press the [MENU] key repeatedly until the PRINT MENU is displayed.
4 Press the [SCROLL] key repeatedly until PAPER SOURCE is
displayed.
5 Press the [SELECT] key repeatedly until AUTO is displayed.
6 Press the [CONFIRM] key to save your setting.
7 Press the [ON LINE] key to return to the printer's On Line mode.
