5.13 Elastography
CAUTION:
Elastography images are provided for reference only, not for
confirming diagnoses.
5.13.1 Strain Elastography
It is produced based on the slight manual-pressure or human respiration in 2D real-time mode. The
tissue hardness of the mass can be determined by the image color and brightness. Besides, the relative
tissue hardness is displayed in quantitative manners.
Strain Elastography imaging is an option.
The L12-3E, L9-3E and L14-5WE probes in small organ (breast, thyroid, testes) exam mode support
the elastography function.
The L20-5E probe in musculo-skeletal exam mode support the elastography function.
The V11-3HE probe in trans-rectal, trans-vaginal, and urology exam modes support the elastography
function.
Probes DE11-3E in trans-rectal and trans-vaginal exam modes support the elastography function.
5.13.1.1 Basic Procedure for Elastography
1. Perform a B scan to locate the region.
2. Touch [Elasto]
[Strain E] on the touch screen or press the user-defined key for Elastography or
StrainE on the control panel to enter the mode (Set the user-defined key for Elastography or
StrainE via the path: [Setup]
→
[System]
→
[Key Config]). Adjust the ROI according to the actual
situation.
Select the probe according to the experience and actual situation.
Adjust the image parameters to obtain the optimized image and necessary information.
Adjust the ROI on the frozen image if necessary.
Save the image or review the image if necessary.
Perform measurement or add comments/body marks to the image if necessary.
3. Estimate the hardness of lesions according to the results.
4. Press <B> to return to B mode.
Tip: In Elasto imaging mode, image magnification is not available.
