Programming—IFC-1010/2020 Programming
101
Application and Clarification
Notes
The IFC-1010/2020 product is listed as a UL Multiple Listing, in
association with its original manufacturer. This allows Johnson Controls to
provide the latest products, upgrades, and updates available from the
manufacturer to the customer at the fastest rate and lowest cost. To
conform to this UL Multiple Listing process, this documentation must
closely reflect that which is distributed by the product’s original
manufacturer.
To supplement the UL Multiple Listed text given in this document, the
following table of descriptive Number Notes has been added.

Outline
When programming is complete, remember to enable the piezo sounder for
normal system operation. See the
Local Parameters
section in this document for
the procedure for disabling and enabling the sounder.

1=PSYS
The term loop is often used in a general way and refers to a Class A looped circuit
only when referencing one of the following:
•
Style 6/7 for an SLC
•
Style D for Initiating Device Circuit (IDC)
•
Style Y for a Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) wiring installation

Local Mode
Operation
Local mode is programmed in the Local Parameters menu. The programmer
identifies all of the addressable detectors and monitor modules at and below the
highest programmed address that are to activate outputs when any in the range
from address 01 to the boundary address is in alarm. The programmer also
identifies all of the addressable control points (modules and transponder points) at
and below a boundary address that are to be activated. Detectors, monitor
modules, and output points above each boundary address will not initiate or be
activated by Local mode operation.

Parameters
This note pertains to the VeriFire programming utility, which used the EIA-485
annunciator port on the SIB to program the panel. This does not apply to the
FIRE PRO utility. However, the Upload/Download function must be enabled when
programming Zone Objects in the Metasys system, but because the
Control-By-Event in the IFC-1010/2020 database can be overwritten by the
interlock statement in the Zone Object, we recommend that Upload/Download
should be disabled for normal system operation to protect the IFC panel’s
database.

Rapid Polling
A consequence of selecting Rapid Polling is all SLC module addresses higher
than 20, including all detector addresses, are polled less frequently, so response
of devices at those addresses will be delayed from that achieved when Rapid
Polling is not selected.
