Helix test body system MELAcontrol
®
Batch-related tests
The test specimen system MELA
control
®
is an indicator and batch
monitoring system which satisfies the standard → DIN EN 867-5. It
consists of a test specimen, the helix, and an indicator strip.
If you sterilize instruments of the category "Critical B", the MELA
control
®
test specimen should be included as a batch control for every sterilization
cycle.
Independent of this you can at all times conduct a steam penetration test
with the MELA
control
®
in the universal program.
The proper use of the Helix test body as directed can nevertheless result
in a discoloration of the plastic surface. However, this discoloration has no
influence on the functional capability of the Helix test body.
Display water quality
You can at all times have the display of water quality shown on the
switched on the autoclave, also during a running program.
To do this keep the K
EY
(-) pressed until the display shows the
→ Conductivity. The conductivity is stated in µS/ cm.
As soon as you release the K
EY
(-)the display returns to its previous status
(e.g. initial state).
Pre-heating temperature of
the chamber
If you press the K
EY
(-) twice shortly and the second time keep it pressed,
the pre-heating temperature of the chamber is shown instead of the
→ Conductivity.
Validation
The guidelines for the validation of small steam sterilizers are still not
conclusively specified. Please inform yourself about the current state of
this matter in the download area of the MELAG internet site at
www.MELAG.de.
