Replacing the WiFi units
Attention:
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the “Important safety information”

This section provides instructions on how to replace the WiFi units. The WiFi units include a WiFi adapter
card, a WiFi card module, and a rear WiFi antenna cable.
Replacing the WiFi units involves the following operations:

“Removing the WiFi adapter card” on page 76

“Removing the WiFi card module” on page 77
•
“Installing the WiFi units” on page 78
Removing the WiFi adapter card
To remove the WiFi adapter card, do the following:
1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets.
2. Open the computer cover. See “Opening the computer cover” on page 32.
3. If your computer comes with a WiFi card module that supports the Bluetooth function, disconnect
the Bluetooth cable from the WiFi adapter card.

Note:
The Bluetooth cable connects the Bluetooth connector on the WiFi adapter card to the front USB
connector on the system board to support the Bluetooth function.
4. Rotate the PCI card retainer to the open position.
