This allows the unsettled cow to enter the box slowly. For the cow to be
identified, it should keep its head close to the aerial. If necessary, remain
behind the cow until the animal has been identified. If necessary, give
extra feed (page 6-13) to lure the cow into the box.
6.2.1.7 Learn the System where to find the Teats
Note:
If a cow enters the box for the first time, no teat coordinates are known in the
system.
1. When the cow goes into the box and is recognized, and the pop-up
window Presence of user is needed because: appears on the X-Link,
select [OK].
2. When the pop-up window Change and validate the following
settings to continue milking process: appears, make sure:
•
The Milk and Don't milk settings for the four quarters are
correct.
3. If necessary, adjust the settings then select [OK].
4. Make sure there are no obstacles that may hinder the robot arm
from moving between the cow's legs.
5. Select [Swing in].
6. Look in the field Position and select the correct button as follows:
•
If the robot is a Left hand robot, select [R]
•
If the robot is a Right hand robot, select [L].
7. Position the robot arm under the cow in front of the udder with
the arm control buttons (page 4-36).
8. Make sure the rear teat cups are under the front teats and the laser
bundle nearly touches the rear teats (
fig. 19 , page 6-8).
9. When the rear teat cups are in the correct position, select [Start
connection].
