4.3.4 Milk Quality Control
The milk quality is tested by:
•
Milk Quality Control (MQC-II)
•
Milk Quality Control Somatic Cell Count (MQC-C).
4.3.4.1 MQC-II
The milk quality is measured with the Milk Quality Control version II
(MQC-II). The MQC-II is installed in the Lower Arm.
The MQC-II measures:
•
Milk flow
•
Milk color
•
Milk conductivity
•
Milk temperature
•
Presence of vacuum.
All items are measured per quarter. All measurement data also used as
information for the cow's condition and stored in the control system of
the ASTRONAUT
A3 Next . The MQC-II is connected to the CAN Bus
network of the ASTRONAUT A3 Next .

4.3.4.2 Test Conditions
General
A test can only be done if all components of the MQC-C are correctly
installed, the test is enabled in T4C and if the MQC-C is set to present on
the X-Link. In T4C you can specify if a certain cow, group of cows or the
herd must be tested.
The MQC-C only takes a milk sample of each quarter just after the first
milk has passed the MQC-C. The test is done during the remaining time
of the milking.
The duration of the complete test, with normal results takes
approximately 160 seconds. When the results are too high an extra
processor rinse(s) is done. This results in an increased duration of the
complete test.
If a test is not completed and the next process on the milking robot
starts (a new cow, cleaning process), the test is adjourned.
Note:
To get a reliable understanding of the test results you must do the test for at
least three consecutive milkings.
