Alarm System
Alarms are indicated by:
•
A sound
•
A LED on the CRS+ Panel
•
Text on the X-Link display.
Some alarms will generate a phone call. This depends on the CRS+
settings.
The alarm system combines the following functions:
•
Collection of active alarm messages
•
Makes alarms audible by buzzer, and also speech message by phone
•
Makes alarms visible on the display panels
•
Identifies alarm priorities
•
Resets alarms
•
Confirms alarms
•
Temporarily suppresses alarm messages.
4.3.7.1
Audible and Visible Alarm Function
An incoming alarm will is displayed on the CRS+ panel with the alarm
LED, and an alarm sound. There are two types of alarms:
•
Continuous alarms
•
Pulse alarms.
Pulse alarms directly generate a phone call, continuous alarms generate
a phone call after a certain (programmable) time.
All active alarms are shown on the CRS+ display.
4.3.7.2
Telephone Calls
If an alarm continues for a specified period of time and if a priority was
set, a telephone call will be made to the active user (page 8-14).
Generation of telephone calls within a preset time (day or night) can be
set for each alarm (page 4-41). A maximum of 5 alarms can be reported
sequentially during each telephone call. Alarms during the night which
are set 'not active' during nighttime, will be reported to the active user
at the transfer of night to day time. Refer to the troubleshooting
flowcharts (page 9-4).
4.3.7.3
Alarm Resets
When an alarm is reset it immediately suppresses the alarm. The alarm is
still present but neither the alarm buzzer nor the telephone call are
activated.
Alarms can be reset as follows:
•
Button
on the CRS+ control panel (page 4-39)
•
Via telephone.
If a new alarm occurs after the alarms have been reset, the alarm buzzer
becomes active again.
