Storing Event Data
17-4
Enabling Spectral Mode collects frequency bandwidth information for
the duration of the sound event. To locate this information in the data
file, see
17.3.1 Event History Spectral Display
.
• Pre/Post Event
Pre-Trigger and Post-trigger values indicate the number of samples you
want to log prior to the event and after the event, respectively. A
sample is equal to the Event Time History
Period
.
• Event Samples
The Event Samples value indicates the maximum number of samples
you want to record for each event. Choose any value 10–9999. Once the
maximum is reached, no samples are logged, even if the event
continues or post-trigger samples were set.
Example:
If the sample
Period
is 1 second, the event lasts 15 seconds,
and
Event Samples
is 10, only the first 10 periods (seconds) will be
logged. Since this event extends beyond the maximum sample time,
there will be no post-trigger sample logged, regardless of the set
Post
Event
value.

17.2 Storing Event Data
Event history data can be displayed during a measurement and after it
has been stopped. However, how and when measurement data is
stored in a data file depends on the
meter Auto-Store
preference, or
the
Run Mode
selected in the measurement setup file. If you haven’t
configured these settings to auto store, the data has not been stored to
memory. To manually store a data file after a measurement is stopped,
press the
7
(STOP/STORE) button.
